Rutland Cold Rolled 2026
Have you heard of fatbiking? In Vermont, its a winter sport that keeps you rolling through the trails and on the many dirt roads around the state.
From the great minds that brought Vermont Überwintern and Winterbike, our friends at Mountain Bike Vermont (MTBVT.com) came up with the perfect event for our trails at Pine Hill Park. The biking community of Rutland totally embraced the idea. A small but mighty team of bicycling enthusiasts came together and continue to each year to create something truly special. A mix of group rides, exploration, beer drinking and burritos, fatbikers come from as far a Philly to enjoy the VT state of mind.
Check in as early as 9am and the fatbiking begins at 10am at the Giorgetti Athletic Complex at 2 Oak Street Extension. Our vendor village will be set up in the lower lots where we’ll also convene for lunch at 12:30 pm. The remote aid station (aka party central) will be located at the overlook and will feature a bonfire and our favorite mid-ride refreshers. Lunch at Giorgetti will be catered by our friends at Ranch Camp (Stowe, VT).
Now with a few years under it’s belt, the Cold Rolled Fatbike Fest has become a Rutland winter staple. This will be the first year that our team at DownValley Bikes is taking the reigns, but riders can expect the same incredible vibe of years past in 2026.
The biggest differences from previous years? This year we’ll have tastings of delicious brews from Rutland Beerworks, an independent brewery in the city - you might know them from their Pine Hill west coast IPA or their Rutland Red American amber / red ale. Check out their taproom and selection here: https://www.rutlandbeerworks.com/.
